Pj.Gubernur Papua Tengah Dorong PT. Freeport untuk Rekrut Tenaga Kerja OAP
Gresik, 15 Juni 2024 – Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Tengah, yang menjadi lokasi operasional PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), terus mendorong kolaborasi erat dengan perusahaan tambang raksasa tersebut. Penjabat Gubernur Papua Tengah, Dr. Ribka Haluk, S.Sos., MM, menekankan pentingnya kerja sama ini dalam pertemuan dengan Director & EVP Sustainable Development PTFI, Claus Wamafma, dan jajaran PTFI di Smelter PTFI Gresik, Jawa Timur, Sabtu (15/06/2024).
Ribka Haluk menyampaikan bahwa Papua Tengah memiliki kepentingan besar untuk membangun sinergi dengan PTFI, terutama dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia (SDM) di daerah tersebut. Hal ini sejalan dengan arahan Presiden untuk menangani isu-isu penting seperti stunting dan pengangguran di Papua Tengah.

“Untuk provinsi Papua Tengah, kami punya satu masalah sumber daya manusia. Presiden sudah menyampaikan beberapa urusan yang harus kami kerjakan seperti penanggulangan stunting dan pengangguran. Ibu berharap, Freeport bisa memperhatikan SDM di Papua Tengah khususnya mereka yang masih menganggur,” ujar Ribka Haluk.
Gubernur juga mengungkapkan keinginannya agar PTFI memberikan kesempatan kerja kepada anak-anak asli Papua, khususnya di Smelter. Ia berharap PTFI dapat menyediakan kuota khusus bagi tenaga kerja lokal yang masih menganggur.
“Saya ingin bagaimana tenaga-tenaga pengangguran kami, saya minta sebagai Gubernur mungkin ada kuota yang bisa disiapkan oleh PTFI untuk bisa merekrut tenaga-tenaga ini, khususnya di Smelter. Alangkah baik dan indahnya jika ada anak-anak Papua Tengah yang bisa dilibatkan di PTFI. Mereka bisa belajar sehingga punya skill dan wawasan. Harapan kita supaya Papua Tengah dan Papua bisa sama dengan wilayah Indonesia yang lainnya. Kira-kira kuotanya berapa yang bisa dikasih ke kami, nanti langsung bisa dikoordinasikan dengan Kepala Dinas Tenaga Kerja provinsi Papua Tengah,” kata Ribka Haluk.
Menanggapi permintaan tersebut, Claus Wamafma menjelaskan bahwa PTFI terus berupaya menciptakan SDM berkualitas dari anak-anak Papua, salah satunya melalui Nemangkawi Mining Institute, yang saat ini 80% pesertanya adalah anak Papua.
“Untuk beberapa pekerjaan yang general itu bisa (direkrut), tetapi untuk yang spesifik seperti electrician, metalurgi, mechanicals, itu memang prosesnya harus panjang. Itu menjadi bagian yang akan terus kita diskusikan ke depannya,” tandas Wamafma.
Dengan adanya dialog ini, diharapkan kolaborasi antara Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Tengah dan PTFI dapat semakin erat, serta memberikan kontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan kualitas SDM dan mengurangi angka pengangguran di Papua Tengah.

mohon perhatian khusus utk ibu gubernur dan pemerintah , harus ada pengawasan perihal perekrutan diPT.FI karena bau KKN sangat kuat dlm perekrutan banyaknya dan hampir setiap hari orang orang non Papua datang dari Jawa atau dari luar Papua dgn mudahnya masuk kerja di PT .FI sementara OAP sendiri sangat sulit mencari kerja di PTFI kalau pun ada jumlahnya tdk sebanyak para pendatang

Saya adalah salah satu dari karyawan PT. Freeport Indonesia yang melakukan aksi mogok kerja karena menentang kebijakan furlogh yang tidak sesuai dengan hukum yang berlaku di Indonesia yang dilakukan oleh management PT.FI.
Mogok kerja yang kami lakukan sejak 2017 ini sampai sekarang masih belum ada penyelesaiannya walaupun di tingkat MA kami dinyatakan menang, tapi management PT. FI tidak melakukannya kewajibannya sesuai dengan putusan yang ada.
Untuk itu dengan rasa hormat kami kepada ibu mohon kiranya ibu dapat membantu penyelesaian mogok kerja kami ini agar hak-hak kami dibayarkan dan kami dikembalikan bekerja di tempat semula sesuai denga putusan MA.
Kami sangat menaruh harapan besar kepada ibu untuk kiranya ibu berkenan membantu proses penyelesaian mogok kerja ini.

Thousands of PT Freeport workers in Papua, Indonesia have held a strike since May 1, 2017. In the five years of this strike, more than a hundred people have died due to depression because their fate is still in limbo. The government is considered to have failed to take steps to resolve it. On Friday (6/5), one of the workers at PT Freeport who led the strike, Aser Koyamee Gobay, again noted that one of his colleagues had died. “It has died 111 people. This morning I heard that someone had died in the house, rotting. He’s a strike employee. He was not sick, but depressed. How come. Five years people do not accept obligations from the company. The government also cannot solve this problem. In this case, the central government,” Aser told VOA, Friday (6/5) night. According to the records of the Papua Legal Aid Institute (LBH), at least 8,300 PT Freeport workers decided to join the strike. The governor of Papua once sent a letter asking PT Freeport to immediately re-employ thousands of striking workers. However, the request was not responded to. In 2018, the government assumed control as the owner of a 51 percent stake. However, Aser added, there is still no follow-up from the center, either from the Ministry of Manpower or the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. “In this case, the government, through the mining SOE holding MIND ID or Freeport-McMoRan as a company, is responsible for resolving strikes and fulfilling workers’ rights,” said Aser. During these five years, said Aser, workers can only wait for the central government’s steps to resolve the problem. “Strike members are waiting for law enforcement and justice in the regions. However, the government must resolve the strike issue, according to a rigid mechanism,” said Aser again. The lawyer for the 8,300 PT Freeport workers from LBH Papua, Emanuel Gobay, also claimed that the strike was an exercise of the workers’ rights. Law 13/2003 concerning Manpower, said Gobay, stipulates that one of the rights of workers is to strike. Therefore, he continued, the strike shows that the 8,300 people are still active as Freeport workers. “They are exercising their rights. This was also confirmed by the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the layoffs lawsuit filed by Freeport against five workers who were on strike. In the opinion of the Supreme Court judge, it was stated that the five people were exercising their rights. In this case, strike,” said Gobay. The Supreme Court’s decision was issued in 2021. The letter contained a statement that strikes are a legitimate right and that PT Freeport immediately reactivate the 8,300 and pay their wages. Gobay reminded that this strike is also a humanitarian problem. Along with the 8,300 workers, there are also their families who have lost their source of income. This includes losing their BPJS membership to pay for their health.

Ibu PJ yang terhormat,persoalan ketenaga kerjaan yg sangat luar biasa tejadi di lingkungan PTFI yaitu PHK massal yg di lakukan secara sepihak terhadap 8300 karyawan pada thn 2017 yg mana imbas dari pemaksaan IUPK dan berlanjut divestasi saham PTFI oleh pemerintah.hingga kini masalah tersebut blm terselesaikan bahkan ratusan dintaranya telah meninggal dunia selama proses mencari keadilan.

PJ.Gubernur tolong perhatikan kami 8300 pekerja buruh PT.fi sedang mencari keadilan dan management PT fi merumahkan kami secara tdk terhormat, teman kami sekitar 200 dua ratusan orang meninggal dunia gara gara tdk bisa berobat BPJS kami di blokir kan oleh manajemen.
Sebagian besar yg mogok atau buruh pt.fi adalah kebanyakan dari masyarakat Meepago atau propinsi Papua Tengah dan kami mengaduh ke ibu PJ gubernur karena Ibu PJ gubernur ada mama kami, orang kami sehingga kami berani datang dan mentok pintu hati ibu PJ tolong perhatikan kami,kami tdk mungkin pulang ke luar Papua ini tanah dan hak Ulayat kami,kami tetap ada di tanah papua,provinsi Papua Tengah dan kami yg ada mogok Sdh makan 7 tahun adalah kami orang Papua dan pada umumnya se-nusantara

7 tahun konflik perburuhan di lingkungan Freeport Indonesia hingga saat ini adalah ketidakpatuhan terhadap bisnis dan hak asasi manusia karena tindakan justifikasi daripada kebenaran yang mengakibatkan penyintas menjadi korban..! belum ada yang melakukan uji tuntas untuk mengetahui apakah pelanggaran berada di atas hukum. Tuduhan tersebut bersifat terstruktur, sistemik, dan masif, dilakukan oleh pejabat negara bersama pengusaha.
Sementara itu, perselisihan berkepanjangan antara Freeport dan pemerintah Indonesia mengenai kendali PT. Freeport Indonesia berakhir tahun lalu; Kasus yang menimpa ribuan pekerja Freeport masih belum terselesaikan. Kasus yang mencengangkan di PT. Freeport Indonesia adalah contoh ketimpangan kekuasaan yang dialami buruh di tangan perusahaan pertambangan raksasa, dan kolusi politik yang muncul ketika berbisnis di Indonesia. Kampanye anti-serikat buruh dan anti-pemogokan yang sistematis, pemecatan massal. Dampak dari kasus ini sangat buruk. Hingga saat ini, sekitar ratusan pekerja yang mogok lainnya telah meninggal, sebagian besar disebabkan oleh kurangnya perawatan medis menyusul keputusan perusahaan untuk menghentikan layanan asuransi kesehatan.
